About the Compass Institute
The Compass Institute
Principal
Kevin Coppola, President
and Founder.
Having been a senior executive at Accenture
for over 20 years, Kevin Coppola combines powerful expertise in
multiple areas, including program management, analytics, problem
solving, systems design, decision-making, strategic thinking and the
building of organizations for exploiting new and advancing
technologies.
After retiring from Accenture in 2001, Kevin founded the Compass Institute, an organization dedicated to investment strategy research. Since the proliferation of investment strategies in the late 1980s based on the work of Harry Markowitz (the Efficient Frontier and Modern Portfolio theory), Coppola has perceived and exposed several inherent flaws in commonly marketed asset allocation strategies for retirement accounts based on those components.
He made it one of the Institute's goals to develop an alternative solution: an objective, algorithmic strategy unrestricted by artificial asset class rules and independent of manager judgment. The strategy had to be flexible and optimize the performance of ANY set of mutual funds in ANY existing retirement plan with
minimum risk.
After five years of intensive research, the
Adaptive Asset Allocation™ (AAA) strategy was developed, and now is marketed by Compass Investors under the name
HORIZON™.
The AAA investment analysis technology is also licensed for sale
through third-party affiliations through another affiliate,
Reallocation Strategies, LLC.
The AAA approach to finding investment candidates is a proven, realistic and sustainable system by which investors can substantially
and safely improve their investing results.
The Compass Institute and Compass Investors are members of the Plan Sponsor Council of America (PSCA).
Kevin also serves as the
President of
Compass Investors, LLC.
Kevin holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Northwestern University.
